Design has taken center stage in today’s hyper-competitive world of technology. The most successful consumer and enterprise technology organizations have learned that growth is synonymous with an engaging user experience. In short, we are entering a ‘golden era’ for design.
Companies are defying the antiquated stigma that the design process, from concept to production, resides in the hands of a small UX team, or a top-down mandate. Rather, businesses are now embracing design as a multi-function, pervasive philosophy, where everyone from engineers to customer support is thinking about user experience. We now see products that are more intuitive, visual and seamless than ever.
At Accel, we have seen businesses prioritize design and the user experience to guide software, hardware and consumer product development. Many of our portfolio partners are at the forefront of this movement, having made design a cornerstone in their business’ ethos.
With rich design expertise within our network, we hope to support our entrepreneurs as they implement design as a multi-disciplinary function.
#AccelDesign: An Event Series Inspired by Designers
In April, we hosted the Accel Design Conference, which served as a day of discussion about the importance of design in consumer and enterprise technology. The event featured more than 600 leaders from today's most design-forward companies like Facebook, Dropbox, Google, Uber, Twitter and more.
This week, we are hosting the first of our Accel Design Series. We’ll be stopping by different portfolio companies throughout the year for flash talks about a design topic of choice and industry networking. The Series unites Accel portfolio companies, media and other category influencers.
