On April 9th, we hosted our first ever Accel Design Conference at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco. Over 600 designers, product leaders and engineers joined us throughout the day to share best practices on building a design team, designing for mobile devices, bridging the “chasm” between PMs, engineers and designers, design in commerce -- and much more. We'd like to extend a special thank you to all the Heads of Design and Heads of Product who shared their wisdom with us. With leaders from Facebook, Dropbox, Pinterest, Uber, Twitter and more, our audience had a rare chance to learn from some of the best.
We won’t even try to condense the day down (we’ll have video and blog recaps for that) but if there’s one thing to take away from the day, it was this: design is a very real and critical part of leading teams, helping products navigate a world of frazzled/overburdened users and increasing device fragmentation. More importantly, the goal of a great user experience isn’t just for the design team -- everyone has “UX” somewhere in their title!
Be on the lookout for the launch of our Accel Design Series. We’ll be stopping by different portfolio companies throughout the year for drinks and a quick flash talk on a design topic of choice. A great chance to mix and mingle with other designers, but most importantly, to keep the conversation going!

p.s. If you attended the conference, but had to leave early and didn't get your t-shirt and bag, please email Keirsten at firstname.lastname@example.org and she'll drop some swag in the mail for you.
